I didn't even think they had one in the EU as I don't think they had one on the SG.

You need to consider the fact that they only filed for the patent in 2010.

That's in the EU Trademark bureaucracy, correct? The EU system didn't come about fully until the mid to late 1990s...I think. Did Gibson file any Trademarks in any of the individual countries prior to that?

Good question. If not, by 2010, the cat was already out of the bag. In most cases, you have to file preemptively.

Actually, the V (regardless of who makes it) does have some distinctive character compared to other shapes. You cannot play the V sitting down.
