How do they compare with SG's?
I really like the style of the jr's. I just want to know how well they
adept with classic rock and I'll also be playing alternative rock. (Green Day. Don't make fun of me please.)

I was thinking of these two?
How much will it matter, having a one pickup guitar?

If i get the one above, which case do you recommend?

It's been a while since I left.
Not that anyone would care...:slash:

I have an 07 Historic LP Jr., with a P90 from 1957 in it and it is very versatile.

I can play all styles of music with it, without any issues.

I don't think they're THAT much like SGs, unless the SG's a junior as well.

I'm fine with a single-bridge-P-90 guitar. There's not a tone I've ever needed I can't get from one. IMO, they make you a better player, as you must rely a bit more on your technique.

If you're new to playing live (as am I), the two pickup with toggle configuration is more convenient under pressure - you don't have to dial in a neck pickup sound, you can just switch to it. But it's definitely there. As are the sounds you state are your style - no sweat.

I have the exact Sunburst Junior and I love it. The P90 is great. Excellent for my style (blues/classic rock).

For the case, I ordered an imitation tweed one from Rondo Music Home Page. Very nice case and the guitar fits just fine. Good price too.

Nice guitar! Did you have to put anything under the guitar to make it sit level in the case?

Under it? :hmm: The difference is absence of a cap on top, not? I just fold my strap where the cap would be. Works even for a Melody Maker, which is only slightly thicker than a deck of cards.

Ah, well, you wanna play classic rock. Leslie West used one, if you haven't heard of Mountain, check out their first album. Some great stuff on there. And then alt, Billie Joe in Green Day uses them (as you know), and no one else comes to mind immediately, but I'm sure there are others in alt rock and pop punk who use Juniors.

Well I bought a roadrunner case (for les pauls) for my daughters melody maker, I had to fold up a tee shirt to get the neck to sit level with the case. I'm looking for a thinner case to fit it better, thinking of going with the same TKL 8824 I got for my Special, but if these Rondo cases fit em good, just mite get one of them

Juniors are minimalists in styling but can rock just as hard as any other guitar.

MM's are a challenge, for sure.

I'll take mine to the music store tomorrow and try a few cases; recommend one to you if I hit on one. Mine fits very well in the LP case I got with it, but the case is almost as old as the guitar, which is a '60.

You can also look at the LP Junior at Guitar Center

They have the humbucker version with a push/pull coil tap on the tone knob. They have $100 off coupon this weekend so you can buy them for $599

My college roomate Andy used to be their agent in the early 90's when Dookie came out. He put me and my (now ex)wife on the guest list to see them at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St Paul in 1994. It was awesome! He used to put me on the guest list for other shows he booked like Megadeth in Osaka 1991 and we would usually go backstage and meet the band. But at the Greeday concert he said "don't go backstage, they might punch you" or something like that.

Late reply but Thanks!

No there is nothing used for a cushion or to make it level. The case is most excellent I must say. They also have a nice brown leather and faux snakeskin case that look very nice.
