Anyone have any idea how many of these sold? Did any MLP member buy one? I know there was a Dusk Tiger for sale forever in the classifieds.....

Any particular reason why Gibson's auditorium has a big picture of George Harrison, famous Gretsch, Rickenbacker and Fender player?
All I can think of is the 1957 "Lucy" Les Paul that Clapton gave him...

I gotta call BS on that Gibson statement. What possible “unsafe components” could be inside that couldn’t be changed out to make them safe lol. Other than discovering the wood used was explosive I can’t imagine anyone buying that excuse. I don’t think they were expecting all the push back and bad press this is getting them and that’s the best excuse they could invent yesterday afternoon more likely. They say the video was months old and as far as I could tell the guy posted it within the last 2 days so again I call BS

Which he was "seen" playing in public precisely once, in the Revolution video.

OTOH, there were also his J160E, and his Epi Casino.

That much is plausible- nobody would be dressed like the people in the vid in Nashville a couple of days ago; it was nearly 100 degrees.

This type of thing goes on all the time, and I agree it is a waste of resources. I worked for a high-end Japanese retail store in the 80's, and when it closed I personally (while a company exec watched) shoveled thousands of dollars worth of merchandise into an incinerator, since they didn't want the expense of shipping it to LA or Japan. Did similar in the early 00's when I worked for a very popular (and pricey) retail clothing chain that was closing a store on the west coast..
Who's the common denominator in these two stories?

That press conference was held in a hard rock cafe, not a Gibson facilty.

And if they donated all those guitars or sold them at a discount, all the Firebird X that were originally sold would be worthless.
