My next and last guitar for a while would be a Black Beauty with p90s in it but I am trying to find what my options are beisdes the 54RI like this one:

1997 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1954 Reissue Les Paul Custom Black Beauty 54RI 711106952611 | eBay

Do I have any other options if I want the following:

- P90s (which I will likely replace)
- yellow binding
- gold hardware is a plus but could obvioulsy be converted

I wish there was a p90 Elitist LP that I could just get refinished but such is life. Any ideas? Should I look at 70s or 80s guitars? Maybe get a Goldtop sprayed?

I think that's your only option there, a '54 Reissue.

There's a 72-73 reissue of the 1954 black beauty custom that are high quality (supposedly) but they are pricey and good luck finding one (i.e. rare too)

1990 40th Anniversary Les paul has got everything you want except the stop tailpiece. I love mine.

Which won't fit in a standard P-90 rout. The rout would have to be deepened to accept the staple pickup.

Cheers,

Thanks for the heads up. My brother has the machinery to deepen it though I may just have a pro do it .

You do not want an alternative.....save yourself some time and money and go for what you will end up with anyway....the real deal RI. Buying an alrernative will only be a temporary thing.

You can find them on ebay occasionally.

I'm a little confused though? You say you want P90s, but you're going to replace them?

Good luck with your search!
