You see nut width measurement pretty frequently. I've also seen a lot of depth at (first and 12th fret) measurements and plenty of nut width measurements. One measurement that I don't see coming up too often is neck width at the 12th fret and/or at the end of the fretboard (over the body). I'd appreciate it if CC owners with one of the '59 models would mind measuring and posting their measurements here.

I have a CC#14 (60 neck profile) and it's notably wider at the 12th fret than original '68 Les Paul Custom...though the nut width and depth (at 1st and 12th frets) are near identical to most of what I've seen published on the various '59 CC models. So this has me curious about the neck width on the '59 models. (BTW, my CC#14 is 2.078" at 12th fret, where my '68 Custom is only 2.038" -- about 3/64ths...and I can definitely feel the difference.)

If you could, please indicate your model and the width at the 12th fret (and any other neck measurements you feel like adding, of course). TIA

The originals will be a bit all over the map.....just another thing that was individually finish sanded...........along with the neck profile, top carve, body outline and overall depth.

The RI's are likely to be all the same from the word go.....but with finish and prep-based sanding involved then you will have small variations - something that should really be expected from any non-machined part.
The variation presented here is tiny of course.......and well within expected tolerance.

You should have a look to the page 220 of the BoTB

Not sure what I'd hope to find there, but of the 4 or so originals I've had my hands on, the necks were fairly consistent. They were also very different from the CC and artist models, the exception being the Ace Frehley run. I'm speaking of 59's in particular, just to be clear.

Actually, what I'm interested in is the actual width measurements on the '59 Collector's Choice models. I won't be buying an original so I'm not concerned with their accuracy to the originals...but I might buy another collector's choice and I'm interested in how the various models "measure up."
