$1215 for a LP case? And it's not even waterproof? I'll stick with my $250 SKB i-Series, thanks.
I saw those and wondered...why? I'd have to have a $10K plus guitar before I'd spend $1200 on a case!

Great concept. If they were smart, they’d offer a lower priced entry level model.

It can withstand 1100lbs of pressure and can survive a 9ft drop...

If I had a guitar worth $10k plus I would pop for one because at that point, I could afford it obviously..

Otherwise.. normal standard issue USA cases are just fine under normal circumstances

Oh God not these things again.

There was somebody with a huge boner for these cases who kept blowing up the backstage, had like $30k in just cases. Most of which were heinous. I'm not one to criticize how people spend their money but dude... what a waste, if you want protection buy genuine road cases.

They look fugly to me.....I'd rather have a Anvil flight case........ the case is worth more then the guitar in it....what's gonna protect the case?

Man, what a waste! I have a '74 Custom & decided to get a newer case bc the original is pretty worn. I found one of the 2015 Spock cases on Kijiji for $200 CAD (thankfully there wasn't a 2015 guitar in it), which works perfectly. $1215? I guess a new sucker is born ever day. Btw, the original case is stored in the closet).

I want one for my grandfathers L5 (1946).
For all my others, with little to no vintage value, I would not spend the money. the SKB i-series is the nuts.

Having said that, the testimonials about the Calton cases are compelling, especially if you get one of the case covers that wrap around the case and zip up.

Now, if I had an authentic '59 Burst, I would keep it in a Calton. But then I would not check it onto a plane.

$120? Let’s see it.
Done boys!!!!!! You'll have to give me time to contact my local carpenter to talk about wood choices based on weight or grain. I think I'll go with teak or pine as they are lighter.
I'll put up the building process in the Luther Corner. The tread will be there in a month or so.
Also I'm thinking a rectangular case instead of a carved one. It looks more classy to me.
