I bet they're a great improvement over the stock ones. But wait a bit and someone who has actually put them in an epi will respond. :)

Just about anything else will be an improvement over the stock Epi pickups, just all depends on what tone you are going after. You can also check out GFS pickups. I've never tried them but alot of guys speak very highly of them and they are very affordable.

It´s a good swap. Every good pickup you put on an epi will make the guitar comes to life!
I saw an epi that has been upgraded with seymour duncans and the improvement was more then 100%. A good epi with the right pickups will make your guitar closer to real gibby t a level that maybe you won´t look for a rela gibby anymore.

I am not sure about Seymour Duncans I have a pal who upgraded and his is is not much better than my Stock pick ups, which are not bad at all, i have gigged with them and sounded good, my amp will have helped its a Fender Hot Rod Deville 60 watt, Burstbuckers are on the modern day Les Pauls thats why i am Interested.

Thanks

I was on the verge of putting Burstbucker Pro's into my Epi LP Standard. You'll also need to change the wiring kit/harness on the custom to accomodate the new BB's. There's a couple of guys on there who will see you right with a good quality wiring harness. If you're in the UK look at lukemacauley profile, he has a link to his website where he sells the wiring kits.

Are you looking for that classic tone with a little bit of extra hotness to it? A little more output? Less?
Either way, don't over-look the pots and caps either.

Which Burstbuckers?

BB 1s?
BB 2s?
BB 3s?

Or BB PROs?

I have BB PROs in a couple of my Epi Les Paul Customs and they sound GREAT!

I put a burstbucker in the bridge of my Epi, and the change was pretty awesome. :)

I say go for it.

I have a BB III in the bridge of my Custom that can also be split. It is bright with some grit in it. When split it will become thin. Although I like it and it really rocks. I like a Classic 57+ in the bridge better. It is more smooth:hmm:.

But it will do things like AC/DC better. So you can't go wrong with a BB in a Custom:thumb: It will improve your tone over the stock pickups:D

I've read on more than one forum that BB#1 and BB#2 are the ticket. Never tried them myself yet, but its on my to do list. :)
