Gibson Limited Run L6-S Electric Guitar and more Solid Body Electric Guitars at GuitarCenter.com.

I can't seem to find any info on the Gibson site, but it looks like Guitar Center is already selling it.

I've wanted one of the originals for a while, but now they brought it back in an updated version. I wish I had the cash!

All maple construction, 24 frets, 6-way selector... it must sound absolutely phenomenal!

From the Guitar Center Website:

490R neck coil-splittable humbucker pickup (4-conductor)

Does anyone else have info on this?

EDIT: More details.

Really? I clicked on it after following the "Gibson Limited Run" ad on their homepage.

When I click on the link I posted here, it shows that it's due to be available on 10/20/2011, just a bit beneath the "Add To Cart" button.

I also see a picture of it pretty clearly. Perhaps try reloading it?

It looks like they changed the original headstock shape to the more traditional shape you might find on a Les Paul, SG, etc.. The original looked like what's on the Midtown Standard right now.

He's right, Mob, I see the same thing, available 10/20/2011.

The guitar in the pic has what resembles a rosewood board, but the spec lists maple, so I'm gonna assume it's torrified maple. Looks like it's got a big-ass Norlin headstock, too. Cool!

Glad to see it worked for someone else.

I'm really excited for when this will be out... I just wish I had the dough!

I tried, I can't seem to copy and paste from GC's little picture viewer.

It's nothing like the original headstock, it's like a Norlin Lester's. Looks cool on the L6-S.

The body is virtually identical to the original visually.

Here's the real question:

The original was offered with a bolt-on neck configuration as well as a set-neck configuration.

Was Gibson smart enough to offer it as the latter?

I hope you guys do. Honestly, I hope it's a real seller and Gibson continues to make it. I like these big, heavy solid bodies!

If not, eBay always has some nice examples of the originals.

Awesome video.

The new L6-S is wired a bit differently, though. The current model's 6-way switch wired for variations in coil-tapping whereas the original was wired for various phasing in series and parallel circuits. Nonetheless, the new version still ought to offer a ton of versatility.

The original:

Other differences include a Mids cut instead of a Bass cut, and serial and parallel in phase and out of phase choices on the 6-way.
