Mine sounds great, too. Although, I recently put it up for sale.
If it sells, I'm gonna buy a...sorry guys...Strat.
There's nothing wrong with a good Strat. :thumb:

I wouldn't mind sawing away at one, if it had a noiseless p90 in the neck, and a momentary kill switch ala Buckethead instead of the toggle being the kill switch.

A little overpriced for what you get, in my opinion, but a nice guitar none-the-less.

Like they said...here I am.....I have one and I love it....the sound I get from mine is amazing.....I love the feel and like how the look seems to offend the purists.....
I'd love to hear some clips if you could make some bro!

I love em'!!! I wouldn't want it to be my only guitar, but man what a player and a nice peice for the roster!!!!

I have to agree with this statement. I've played quite a few of them as that was what I had planned on purchasing for my first LP. They are smoke'n axes IMO and I could have picked one up for under a grand from my buddy’s store. I finally went with the VM because I just love them too and the price was right at the time and I have absolutely no regrets!!! I will however be adding one to my harem one day for sure.

I'd never scrutinize your playing man! I'd just love to hear the tone of that bad boy. I almost wish I could find an old Deluxe and throw a great p90 in the neck and keep the mini bucker in the bridge... Hmm...

I once built my own BFG which didnt go perfectly. I used a Chinese copy called a "Photogenic". The finish didnt go as planned. Moreover, I put a Seymour Duncan P90 in the neck which was far hotter than the low end humbucker. It played fine, just wasnt perfect. I ended up giving it away to a friend with no electric guitar.

Recently I demod a real BFG to test an old school Marshall "Guvnor". It wasnt as easy to play as I thought. The lack of fretmarkers made it harder than I thought it would be.

I reaaaaly dont like those BFG bursts... but the solid colors, the BFG Studio, or that BFG natural... not bad.

If anything Id go with the Studio if only for the fretmarkers. My playing is bad enough without getting lost on the fretboard...

Maybe this weekend I'll record something quick.......where is a good place to host MP3 files?

When I saw Gibson launch the BFG, I just..... didn't.... get it. Why would I (or anyone) spend that much money on a guitar that wasn't even finished? I figured it was either some bizarre marketing ploy or Gibson had lost their mind.

Ummm, I own one now. :laugh2:

And I LUV it!!! It plays great, feels great, and most importantly, sounds great! It has become one of my "go-to" guitars.

Never woulda thunk it, but it's raw, stripped down appearance totally works for me. Of course your mileage WILL vary... that's the whole point of the guitar.

Bottom line is.. Rock on with WHATEVER works for you!:jam:

I grew up in the hair band era of heavily modified frankenstrats, so I was not so upset about the BFG design when it first came out. I kinda liked the distressed bare bones look of the BFG. The blank fretboard was never an issue for me since I used to play classical guitar many years ago, the side dots are plenty. It feels good, sounds good, and smells good too! Here's a pic of mine:

I tweaked mine a little bit, OK a bunch, but I really love this guitar now. The chambered body is the top selling point for me as my back can't take heavy guitars for long periods anymore:

I like the kill switch idea on the BFG. I wondered if they took that idea off of Buckethead's LP custom? hmmmmm....

That's very cool! Adding the pickup ring, and switch ring really gave it some personality.

It works great for me since my H&K amp doesn't have a standby switch. So when my band takes a 15 min break, i just hit the Kill switch.
