It comes with a case, it’s not got a special heel but it’s definitely got a case included.

The case was not included? Seriously?
The Standard comes with a normal LP Standard case. The CS had a special Adam Jones case (see pic).

Nice.
I read a guy state that the case was extra, which is why I asked. Thanks!

I see other guys getting the Adam Jones with a standard black case, not this one. So it may vary.

Oh sorry, that's the a custom Shop case. Got ya.

There was a guy who got another case as well, was probably better off if you ask me. And seems like sweetwater messed up this time. I can't see any mentioning of neck heel on the Gibson website.

Sounds to me like it’s just sweetwater marketing fluff, either way it’s just a top notch standard.

I don’t have a bad word to say about it, well worth anyone’s consideration.

I hope it will be possible to buy the bridge pickup on its own. Sounds really nice. Has anyone compared it to å DDJ?

Finally got it.

It’s a damn good Les Paul, fit and finish are 100% spot on usually I can find something but with this one I really can’t.

The ebony board is good, I will say it was as dry as a witches tit which seems to be the norm these days at Gibson. This one, and my 60th anniversary needed some serious oiling out the box. A minor complaint but it can’t be hard to put some conditioner on it before it leaves.

It’s a substantial lump, 10.2 lbs of silverburst goodness it’s the heaviest modern lester I own and it’s only 0.6 lbs less than my norlin custom so when it says 79 on the truss they are not kidding.

It feels like the nitro feels a little thinner than my 2013 traditional, in fact the whole fit and finish feels like they’ve put just a little more effort into it than your normal USA guitar. Bear in mind I’ve only had it a few hours so I might just be getting all starry eyed in the honeymoon phase.

Case is decent, a little bit chunky for my taste but it’s nice to see something different to the usual and personally I prefer it to the case that came with the custom model. I love some silverburst but not on the case as well.

The sound is pretty much epic. Really big. Obviously it loves some distortion but it’s also dynamic and I am surprised that the bridge pickup doesn’t completely overwhelm the neck. It’s basically a monster, I’m waiting on the sirens coming down the road at this point.

I’m not sure about the neck it’s a bit boomy but I will mess about with it and see if I can find some tones I like.

So yeah if you’re waiting for one, you shouldn’t be disappointed and if you’re thinking about ordering one then do it.

Oh yeah and my blank truss rod cover is missing so that’s a pest.
You mentioned the neck being boomy? What does that mean? Do you like the neck? Thanks!

Thanks for your help! It's hard to find a good LP, you often have to go thru a bunch. I am hearing that with the Adam Jones, most are coming out as a 'good' LP so it's a way of getting a good one. They are only make long a small amount and paying attention to a lit of detail from wood to build, etc.

It was just quite a bass heavy sound straight out of the box, I’m not sure if it was the contrast between the neck and bridge or if it needed a little adjusting, most likely a bit of both.

I’ve adjusted the height and I’m happy with it, I’ve not got burstbuckers in any of my other LP’s so it offers something a little bit different.

I love the neck but I’m pretty happy with most neck sizes, I used to think I was a big neck guy but these days I don’t think it matters. To me neck thickness is just something I get used to and then forget about.

It’s just a Les Paul in a cool finish with an ebony board, if you’re into that sort of thing then you won’t be disappointed but if it’s a PRS or a flat radius type shredder you’re after then it’s probably not for you.

Thanks!
My favorite necks are rhe fat PRS necks but they can be too big at times. Love my 50s LP though. You can shred on anything though.

Ordered mine in June, received it last week and the finish is completely scratched up. GC helped with the price even though it came straight from Gibson to their warehouse then to me, never in a store, never touched other than by the guy that put it in the case. Gibson is taking care of it by me taking it to a certified shop to either buff out the scratches or a full refinish if necessary. Total PITA!

Ugh! I swear, the QC guys at Gibson are either drunk or stoned at times (or maybe just miserable in their jobs). Absolutely zero excuse for this... especially on a high-end, high-visibility model like this. Sorry what should have been a glorious day (getting your new AJ) was ruined by a thoughtless QC person. Frustrating! Glad they are taking care of you.

I wish the photos actually showed everything going on. If it was one small mark here or there it would be one thing but the entire back looks like the guy had a dirty rag when he gave it the final wipe down.
