Gibson '57 Custom 1993 *im thinking of buying this help needed

The seller states:

Gibson 57 Custom Reissue 1993
57 classic pickups
No neck breaks, etc
(Changed specs) - bonenut, refret, fret dressing, selector cover.
The bindings some of them are as the picture shows due to the refretting.

Price is $2000


Now i have to say ive never bought a Custom before. I really need your help on this.

1) What are the differences between this,the VOS, and the historic line?
(he states this was out before the historic or something like that)
2) Are these the original specs for this guitar? What are the original specs?
3) Is 1993 a good year for a custom 57 reissue?
4) Is this a good buy?

I'm no expert on pre-historics, but I'd say it's probably all original besides what he said was changed. It looks like it's been played, but it wouldn't have been aged at all when new (I don't think).. '93 was a good year for everything , IMO.

For 2,000?!? Yeah, I'd snatch it!

VOS is a finish spec, makes the guitar looked "aged"

93 - did they use 57's in 93? wait for someone else, I cant remember.
I would have thought they would be BB.

I "think" what you have there is simular to my 68 Custom.
Not particulary considered a Re-Issue, but definitly a Historic.
but folks will agrue that as well.

There were no BBs in '93! As far as I know, there was no aging process either. It has an old style limited edition/custom shop logo on the back of the headstock. It's a pre-historic '57 reissue.
