I hate when a guitar grabs me right before Christmas. Couldn't help myself, found a 85 LS 50 totally upgraded with 57 classic's, tone pro bridge and tailpiece CTS switches and pots bone nut and new case. Just looked too good to pass. Oh well Hope Mrs. Claus understands why she get's no diamond this year. Hope this is a good model. I understand it's bottom line but bottom line Tokai's are better than most top of the line other big names. Pic's when she comes in. Gonna put under tree and tell her thanks for the gift HaHa

I don't think so because I have a two piece solid maple top on mine. I don't have experience with any better grade Tokais, but LS-50s are really solid guitars. Which MIJs have 4 piece tops?

Congrats. I have an '80 LS50, sunburst, three piece top, GT written in black in the neck pickup cavity. Bought it new when I passed thru Tokyo in '81. I think you'll be happy with yours.

Ok before you all get on my Christmas balls. I can't send pic's because my Apple has a worm and is in the shop. She came in today and I have no frickin idea what she is. I removed neck pup and can see center line of maple cap, no veneer, straight down to mahogany body. There is a small square piece of mahogany that has no finish on it. Removed bridge pup and all inside is finished. No heel cap, no scarf joint in neck, same headstock angle as my Gibby. Dimple headstock also. Serial # is 5031694 stamped in. Could this be a Korean? Regular 2 hole truss rod cover no extra holes and looks to be one maybe two piece back. WTF is it Oh yea trans tenon.
