Gary was an incredible talent-player,singer and song writer--He did shine best it seemed to me with the PG LP and that old red strat--this sounds crazy but I wish the PG LP could have been buried with him--NOBODY will ever play it like he did and I would think it misses its master

Agree.....you don't know what you've lost until it's gone........

I loved Gary since i've discovered the montreux '90 concert
Than i started to see his pre 'back to the blues' carreer
But i could never imagine he was such a talent and master who played fusion jazz and prog throughout his career...
He was technically a virtuoso since he started his carreer, than he started to play everything always adding more and more at himself as a musician, than he finally (as a mature musician) reached the perfection status of the ones that can give you everything he's feeling when playing
Look,to tell a few,at the Red House performance at the strat pack, look at the 'Messiah' at Montreux '90,at 'the Prophet' and 'Stormy Monday' at Montreux '01..the Marshall demo too!!
I repeat..a Master of the instrument and a Legend, with the honour of the greatest Les Paul of all Time (Stripe is great too) with him during his carreer

The Montreux 1990 concert may well be the best of the series of Gary's concerts there.
Gary is using his Heritage Les Paul for the first three songs of the set.
I miss Gary a lot as well.

The Montreux series is nothing but EPIC
it's very hard to make some 'better than' classified..only the 1997 it's not incredible, but only because of the songs and not for the Gary's playing
The 90 is pure fury,with the Messiah...Legend
The 95 is even more 'classy',it resounds of the 'blues for Greeny' experience, same thunders of 90 but in a more bluesy way (think about The two different versions of 'the stumble')
'99 is 'epically normal',Gary ALWAYS on fire
'01 is really EPIC.Gary was truly inspired that year, all along The year, and 'Stormy Monday' is to me one of The Masterpiece of his career, same league of the 'red house' at The strat pack.and..The Prophet..o my God!
I don't like The 2010 concert,i think Gary had not a particulary good evening(rare case) but The thing that i don't really like about that concert is The sound...the R8 sounds terrible to me

Just read all this mess. Greatest thread ever on MLP !
My friends have asked me over the years. If I could be any guitar player in History who would I be? My answer always... FN Gary Moore ! I could Play and sing so soft and beautiful , full of emotion and then flick down the switch and rip your damn head off!

The guitar stuff is very interesting with a lot of insider info. The posted videos are awesome....Thank you.

I would like to know more about Gary Moore himself. Cant seem to find out much.

Is there anyplace to read a good accurate bio on him ?

With that talent I always assumed He led a good life. I guess we all have our own demon's to deal with.
