Insofar as "legitimacy" matters in Westeros - (remember Viserion? Yeah, his claim and a dollar gets you death by molten metal) - Dany is the only one with a clear and unchallengeable claim. Cersei has none at all save temporary control of the capital, the Baratheons are extinct (and illegitimate anyway) and Jon is a bastard whichever way you slice it. (he is King in the North for the moment, despite having no claim at all).

Although I do reckon he'll wind up marrying Dany, the only way to unite the fractious North with the rest of the Realm. Perhaps it will become a dual monarchy, like Austria-Hungary or Great Britain under the Stuarts.

-------------------------
As far as anyone knows, Bran is dead, and even if he turns up he can be safely said to have resigned his claim just as much as Benjen or Maester Aegon.

A note on Littlefinger- let's not forget that the Knights of the Vale are really commanded by Lord Royce, who hates the Mockingbird's guts and who at Winterfell needs not fear Robin pitching him out the Moon Gate. Moreover, I doubt the Arryn forces are going to take on the united Manderly-Glover-whoever armies who sure as heck aren't going to let their part-Stark Northern king be displaced, just because of some political promise by the Lannister bitch.

That wont happen. He burnt his hand in the first season when trying to kill the white walker at Castle Black. Jon is (most likely) a Targaryen, but he's not 'the dragon', just like Viserys.

Maybe his superpowers have been activated?

Is it just me, or is he kind of pathetic these days, more than usual. He goes after Lady Stark, gets turned down, and then he goes for Sansa, and of course loses there too. Get a life LF!

There could be a reason why he's called "littlefinger"

At this point, I imagine everyone knows he can't be trusted and he is a sh!t stirrer. So why would they want to deal with him? His bridges are burned.

As much as I hate Cersei, she cant be under estimated. She will use her dignity, coochie, kids, brothers or anyone else to sit in that iron throne. Blowing up half a city, murder, blackmail, incest - anything goes.

And Littlefinger is just as crazy. Some one asked in an earlier post - why did Rhaegar take Lyanna? Heres my take. Littlefinger planted a seed in the mad kings disillusioned head that the Starks would cause some chit, need to make a statement. Littlefinger wanted Cate but could never have her. Remember when he said he was all about f&%$ing the Starks over? Cant recall the episode or season...And he sees himself on the Throne with Sansa at his side in lieu of Cate.

Yup, both CERTIFIED.

IMO, that theory is more tinfoil department than the gravedigger theory. :fingersx:
I believe that the Water Dancers are totally different breed, more mundane sword fighters than the cultist type assassins aka the Faceless Men.

If I remember right, Jaqen was found from the black cells and the two other prisoners were afraid of him.
I don't think there was enough time between Syrio's match against Meryn Trant's gang and the jail time.
I also don't think that both Trant and Syrio would had survived that encounter - one of them had to die. This time it was the guy who was highly skilled with the swords, but had no chance against too many foes in too much armor.

I believe it was just as simple as Syrio being a swordmaster that was available for Ned to hire when Arya needed something "boyish" and controllable to do.
Got fond of his pupil, got killed because of that, and then Arya simply bumped into something totally different, because random things happen.
Of course it would be fascinating plot if the Faceless Men had an ultimate plan to make Arya the next big thing in their club, but for me it sounds highly unlikely.
I don't think Jaqen (or whatever his real name is) had much hopes for Arya coming to the House of Black and White when he gave him the coin and the passphrase - it was just an option, because she had interest in being able to "take names" just like that.

Yeah I don't buy into that one either. It's fun but unlikely. It's a little more probable in the books but some small changes made in the show sink it.

My favorite "wacky but wouldn't that be fun" theory is that Daario Naharis is Euron Greyjoy. The logic behind that one is they're both kinda wacky looking and the point in the story where Euron emerges is also the point where Daario is absent, with Euron explaining that he has been messing around in Essos and elsewhere. Now that is tinfoil my friend.

For all his talk Littlefinger is a pretty easy guy to pin down.

He fell in love with Catelyn Tully but wasn't allowed to marry her because of his low status and she didn't reciprocate him anyway So now he has two goals: Reach the highest level of status he can (King) and marry Catelyn's daughter. Big time compensation.

With all the focus of the chaos going on, no talk of Tarlys 1st day at College? Seems he found his calling.

And Davos' character showed an angry side we haven't seen before. He never liked that red witch much. He shouldn't have threatened her though, she didn't look too worried. Anyways shes riding south now. Wait until Dani shows up with the air force, cant wait to see what Melisandre sees in THOSE flames.

Littlefinger definitely fell behind in the game this year. Jon, Sansa or anyone else would be foolish to trust him but it would be dangerous to underestimate him. He will be a major play maker in the big game until the end.

Come to think of it, Sansa can't be trusted either so maybe her and Baelish deserve each other.

Bran is aspiring to become a tree and that's supposed to be amazing? Thousands of kids who participated in Christmas plays at school would disagree.

And Benjin could use some sun.

So if John is a Targ and Dani is looking to marry, who does that leave - Jaime?

They called Jon the White Wolf, so that's sparked a bunch of jokes between Witcher fans since that's Geralt of Rivia's nickname. Everyone's joking about a crossover, "Witcher is Coming." etc

GRRM and Andrzej Sapowski published their respective series around the same time, and they resemble each other in a lot of ways.

HBO needs to pick up Witcher after GoT. Give us a TV show adaptation of the books.

I'm aware of this series and the movie.

Let's pretend they never happened, and hope HBO picks it up. :laugh2:
