I liked both. I mix them personally to get the optimal tone

I like both as well. I have two 4x12's with V30's, one 2x12 with G12T-75's and one 2x12 with a V30/G12H-30 combo.

I tried the V30/G12T-75 combo in my Avatar 2x12 but prefer the 2 G12T-75's. I may try again with a different amp.

IMHO G12T-75's are highly underrated and can still be purchased used for cheap.

A local buddy bought one of my beat-to-shit JCM 900 Marshall 4x12's with stock 75's. That cab had been punished for a couple decades with 100w heads in the Portland & L.A. punk scenes. The 75's in that cab sound fricking great, no doubt thanks to the real world extended break-in. I would've kept the cab if it didn't smell like cat piss.

Did it look worse than mine?

I agree, G12T-75's are very underrated especially for high volume/high gain stuff, but they can be buzzy and scooped at low volume. I think this is where their bad rep comes from.

If you like them, be sure to check out the white-label ones from the 80's, sound pretty much like 65's but can be had for a fraction of the price. They have a bit stronger mid-range compared to the 90's ones, maybe a bit less highs. They are still very reasonably priced. I got a pair in a 1966A cab and was very surprised to see that they are so different from the later ones.

I like the way T-75s chunk when palm muting, but the high end gets on my nerves after awhile. The higher the gain, the faster it gets on my nerves.

My ears are so conditioned to V30s that other speakers just don’t sound/feel right anymore.

Dude, be careful with that caster not being screwed in all the way...

Thanks, John.

That was the sellers pic...I tightened up the casters a while back. Replaced the broken handles as well.

Those are both early '90's 1960 Vintage cabs, BTW. V30's.

Honestly, I prefer V30's.... But in some cases I think the G12T-75's sound better.

A set of broken in G12T-75 inside a 1985 4x12 JCM 1960A cab sound pretty, pretty good

I like the V30 for the low gain stuff but prefer the G12T for the full on crunch.
