Warmoth "SRV" Fender Licensed Nitro Relic Strat w/ HSC - eBay (item 280309737007 end time Feb-09-09 18:55:52 PST)
This is a totally custom Aged/Relic Warmoth Fender Licensed Stratocaster. I put this guitar together in 1997 using the best components I could get to closely resemble Stevie Ray Vaughan's #1, but it has undergone some cosmetic changes in recent years. The body was refinished and aged (lacuqer checking) in a vintage dulled 3-color sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish by Southbound Customs last year and I refinished/aged the neck myself. The neck is aged so that the lacquer on the back of the neck has been worn off like it would look after 40 years of playing and the headstock has a Fender spaghetti decal burried under the nitro. The body has lacquer checking all over. Also of note is the SRV/Hendrix styleleft handed tremolo on the body. This was routed at the Warmoth factory like this so there is no re-routing and plugging of the right hand side of the tremolo route. All of the accessories on this guitar are from top-quality manufacturers. The guitar plays fantasticaly and sounds awesome with the GFS "Texas" pickups. The frets have a moderate amount of wear but there's still years of life left. This guitar would be perfect for someone starting an SRV #1 relic project as the neck is already relic'ed and the body is already lacquer checked and ready to be aged further..not to mention the correct left-handed tremolo. To make your project even more realistic, I've included a Genuine Fender black pickguard and all the holographic SRV and Custom decals you'd need. Also included is a Fatboy Guitar Parts Mint Green pickguard if you like that style and a Genuine Fender Locking Hardshell Case. See below for a full list of everything on the guitar:
