2017 Custom Shop 1960 Reissue R0 "F". Neck Depth 0.825/1st Fret, 0.94/12th fret. 8.85 Lbs. No neck breaks or damage. A few very faint scratches. If I understand it correctly, this was the year Gibson incorporated all the bells and whistles from the "Historic" line into the regular custom shop line (hide glue, historic plastics and maybe some other stuff). Guitar was Plek'd at Mike Lull's shop in Bellevue, WA, and has had very little play time since. Custombucker pickups. Includes COA and original brown hard case. The COA says R0 "F" which means "Figured", (I think...) $4500 $4300 plus shipping.

I bought this in 2019 to see if I liked the thinner neck better than the neck on my R9, and it turns out I prefer the R9's slightly thicker neck after all. It's hard to let this one go though, because it's so beautiful. It has been played very little, and it plays and sounds great. I just don't need two of them.

Does the price need to be posted in the headline? As Duane The Tub says, the price is written in the first line of the post: $4500.00

Super fast neck LOL. Apparently I have my notation incorrect - isn't that how you write .95 of an inch? No, I guess you write it 0.95 inches. Ok, I'll change it. I think this might be why they invented the decimal system.

Speaking of the decimal system: I thought I'll compare this R0's neck to my R9, which is 0.90 first fret. So the R0 is 7/100ths of an inch smaller than the R9, right? That is 1.8 millimeters - call it 2 mm: that is an absolutely tiny difference. I think the R9 has more "shoulder", and apparently I like that better. That is not what I would have guessed. Of course I might have chosen to sell the R0 - I should really sell one of them - because the R9 is a 2012, and I didn't think it would sell ...

guitar is a game of thousandths of an inch, 7 hundredths is definitely noticeable. And yes, shoulders can make a difference as well. Measurements are a very helpful tool, but the real proof of the pudding is when you have it in your hands. I've had guitars with fat almost baseball bat necks and thin necks. I almost said SG but keep in mind, the 1960 were pretty thin toward the end of the run and the SG/LP continued that trend followed by the SG. When people describe an R0's neck as being "SG thin", they're actually getting it backwards :D

Jokes aside, this is a nice guitar for a fair price for the current market. Should not last too long.
