Thanks! I do realize these aren't that popular around here. :laugh2:

You are correct, and with good reason. Just look at them. They are obviously worn out. I tell you what. I will trade you a shiny new set of Seymour Duncan '59 in bright new nickel covers.

I'll even cover the shipping and include a padded bubble bag.

Cheese, you are FAR too generous! I could never take advantage of you like that in good conscience. ;)

And update! Best offer is now sitting at $1500.

Nothing for nothing but posting what the current offers are sort of is wrong as it could be construed as fishing for offers. On another board I belong to, this is frowned upon since if your going to post a offer made, you need to post the user name of who made the offer so others know the offer is legit and verifiable. This is sort of like shill bidding if not done in this manner. I am sure your an honest Brother but this make an offer format with no posted proof of offers made just looks wrong

My 2 cents, please take no offense

Well, thanks for your 2 cents, but this has been done on this forum several times and been allowed. I've been around here quite some time and had plenty of deals around here. I'm honest. Why would I create a fake maximum bid? That could end up with me having no one to actually pay it.

For any seriously interested members, I would be happy to connect them with the person who provided the current high offer for them to verify.

Oh, and at least on this forum, those kind of comments are better made in a PM. Thanks.

Gotta vouch for JM. Awesome seller and a very honest guy. If he says that s the highest offer, I'll bet my ass it is. OTPG pups are ever increasing in value and rarity, so that price sounds about right.

JMV is a good guy, and is an honest guy. I have done a couple of deals with him that were perfect.
Anyway, JMV I am interested in this R8. Can you shoot me a PM with what you would be looking for as far as price, and a pic? Thanks man.

Again... I meant no offense and I clearly said that, I just saw a shitstorm over the same type offer thread from a longtime respected member of another board who was caught "playing games"

I see no harm in being completely transparent with any deal, can you think of any reason why not to be?

I am sure the seller is honest, never said otherwise

Mods feel free to delete my posts in this thread if you do not feel this is a valid opinion that others may agree with who do not know the seller

arghhh i already ordered Tom Holmes and have OTPG and when i see this i want another set :) this is so hard to find, so it is weird it is not already sold, and 1500$ is serious money, but i think i will never sell my set at any sum, so sorry you have family problems so this set must go cause in future i think this will be even more hard to get than now :(

Thanks, fellas!

Northwinds, as I told you via PM I don't want to openly post the contact information or username of a serious buyer because that member would receive a lot of messages and attention, which isn't fair to them. Like I said before, for any member seriously interested in purchasing these pickups, I will be happy to connect them with that member who made the $1500 offer.

And if I said, "No offense, but you're stupid.", you'd still be offended, right?

I'll definitely keep you in the loop on the R8. These pickups and other parts I'm selling came off of it, so I need to replace a number of parts before I can list it. It's the ebony top, natural back one I've posted around. When I'm at my computer, I'll PM you some older pics.

:wow:

....man, you les paul guys must love your vintage correct details more than money. Still trying to get used to that mentality but that's another conversation for another thread...probably on another board. ;-)

Best of luck to JMV on the sale of what are no doubt fantastic sounding pickups!

Thanks, guys!

After thinking about it a bit more, I don't see any reason to keep this going on for a week. So, the current offer is $1500. If I don't receive an offer higher than that by tomorrow, Wednesday the 18th at 10PM Central time, the pickups will go to that buyer. The highest offer I receive by that time will be the buyer. I'm about to PM the members who expressed the most interest.

IMHO, the posting of the current high bid would severely irk me if I were the high bidder.

Regardless, good luck with the auction JMV!

Just imagine if these were double creams...

Ryan, I can understand that. I'm trying to sell these out in the open as much as I can without giving info about the buyer away. The main reason I'm posting the price is that the last thread where OTPG pickups were sold here (same selling method as well) there was a lot of groaning from members about the price being in the dark and no one knowing where to start with an offer.

Anyway, all will be over Wednesday night! These are already packed up and ready to ship out for the lucky buyer. :D

I was fortunate enough to be able to get a double cream pair attached to Ben's amazing R8and after a week of playing the guitar I can say they are by far my favorite pickups out of 15 LPs I have. I am a bit amazed that they are going for so much but with the craftsmanship involved they are more like pieces of art.

Good luck with the sale, it sounds like the money will be well-spent.
