Up for sale is a true vintage Gibson collector’s piece - a 1978 Gibson RD Standard in fantastic condition for its age. One of about 800 total made, and not to be confused with the RD Custom or RD Artist models which are much more plentiful and loaded with garbage active electronics. The RD Standard is by far the more rare, desirable and collectible model in the RD line. There are some slight blemishes here and there, but generally speaking, this guitar is in excellent condition and well cared for. True 25.5” scale and all maple construction, unlike the reissues.

Original case, case candy, the whole 9 yards. Original pickups. Recently set up, frets crowned and polished, ready to rock. Stock 300k pots sound terrible and were swapped out for super nice matching CTS 550k pots - night and day difference. Original pots included. 9.4 lbs on the digital bathroom scale.

Own a really amazing piece of Gibson history. No trades. $2,250 PP and shipped OBO. More pics at https://reverb.com/item/25347340-gibson-rd-standard-1978-natural

That was my #1 guitar from 94-05. It had stock tarbacks and ABR. I kinda miss it. It was well worn and played. I sold it in 05 for $575 on EBay.
