Alright folks, I think I am finally ready to part with this guitar.
Up for sale is an '01 PRS McCarty in Dark Cherryburst. Dots and stoptail. Includes OHSC, upgraded tuners to Gotoh Vintage Locking...everything else is original. I am the second owner of this guitar. It is in good condition overall, but does have some 'player' wear. I take great care of my gear, but I am not afraid to play them when I gig and this was my main axe for about 6 months. There are about 7 small (pencil tip sized) dings on the top in various places. Mostly behind the bridge and a few between the bridge pup and volume knob. Just finish indentations. Also one of the same along the bottom binding. The back has swirls and belt marks, but all are only indentations and nothing through the finish. There is no concentrated spaghetti buckle rash like you often see...its more individual marks sporadically over the back. Again, the guitar is in good condition but this is not a PRS to collect....it is broken in and meant to be played! Frets are level and polished and it plays like butter!
Looking for $1,450 shipped. You can email me at peckhart@rochester.rr.com if you wish to speak privately about it. I am selling to fund an LP Goldtop. Classic is preferred, so that is the only type of trade I will consider.

This is back up for sale. I let it die here and pulled it from ebay as I had decided to hang on to it.
Back around to wanting to let it go. I just never play it in favor of my LPs. Description and pics are all the same...its only been out of the case twice for some light home playing since then.
Price reduced to $1300 shipped and PayPal'd.

Haha....our resident PRS lover. I have already spoken with him and I think he is all set with PRSeses for now. Unfortunate....probably for both of us I think.

If this is still available in early June. Then I'll probably take it off your hands.

I'm trying to not buy anything new until then. So far so good, my last major purchase was in January. It's tough.

Really want a McCarty too *bites fingers*

what pickups are in it BTW?

Original McCarty's. Only things changed are the tuners and locking tailpiece studs.

I have it on Craigslist and may put it on Gear Page, but I am not going to ebay with it so....it could still be around. I am not in a huge hurry.

:laugh2: We've been discussing this one for a while.

Ekoms, I'd definitely go for that McCarty! If you like Strats, there is also a push/pull tone pot that allows you to split the coil and give you a thinner sound. It's an all-around great guitar!

WoW! nitrous12 - Very Pretty geeetar , ... couple of questions - I got small hands ( I like them skinny 60's Les Paul necks ) - what is the profile of the neck on this guitar ? - Secondly, Is the thickness of this body as thick as a Les Paul Standard ? ( I was told that them McCarty PRSs were made thicker than their other models ) , .... Thanks and ROCK ON ! :dude:

The profile is their Wide/Fat neck. I think it might have a tad more thickness too it over a 60s profile, but not a ton. They are very comfortable necks and I find the width makes it comparable to the neck width of an LP. Easier high fret access thats for sure!
I want to say its a bit thinner than the body of a LP Standard. The contour, shape and carve are different so it obviously feels different. I'll get it out tomorrow and do some better comparisons to my LPs if you want.

Thank you nitrous12, ... I DID Own a GoldTop PRS "small heeled" 24 fret model in the past - BUT Never really played it. At that time I was looking for a GOLDTOP Stoptail model. So, I sold that GOLDTOP PRS, that one did have a nice feeling neck, I think it was a WIDE THIN sized neck. Later, I read somewhere that the McCarty Model was produced with a thicker body than the regular PRS Models , and what caught my eye on your PRS was the STOPTAIL , ... I just wonder what it would cost to have a neck shaved down to my specs ? ... :hmm:
