Ben thank you for posting this pic, now I see the smile end of the tenon. These were more common in 57-61 LP's. There have been earlier guitars with a smile tenon, but I haven't seen a 54 to this date that didn't have squared off corners. Also cool to see the Duncan labels.![]()
By the way..The Gibson people from the custom shop says that the guitar is from 1954 based on the thickness of the head, whatever that means ?

I posted on page 1 hoping that something good would happen, and after reading through the thread this entire time, I can't believe it is true!
Now I am really interested if Peter will restore it and gig/ record music with it, if gibson will make a new run of copies of this guitar, and more! Thanks for the awesome thread guys!
Edit: Btw, does anybody know the deal with the three white pickups? (Are they white pafs, special t-tops, etc.?) Or are they not even gibsons? Don't know if anybody verified for certain what they are.
Hah, I only looked at the routings and missed that sticker- they are all some sort of seymour duncan pickups then.Duncans![]()
