A few years back Santa (aka Daddy) picked up matching Hamers for daddy and son after my boy said he wanted a "real rock and roll guitar like the ones daddy has." :) He was 7 at the time and so the note from Santa said the Flying V was his but that he had to be a good boy and practice his guitar lessons (he'd recently started and had a Squier mini-Strat to learn on). The Flying V would be his to grow into as he got big enough to hold/play it. He's 13 now and is certainly big enough (almost 6') but alas, the guitar mainly hangs on the wall as his interests have moved on to karate (getting his black belt this summer), etc. But daddy still holds out hope that he'll come back to the guitar some day. He has musical talent (sings in the choir, played the upright bass last year in orchestra, etc.) but I want it to be his decision and not something I push upon him (and end up turning him off to it). Anyway, here's the matching guitars...

Cool guitars, and at least he found something he likes to do other than watching tv and playing call of duty all day like most kids his and my age.
And I play upright bass too. :thumb:

Thanks! And very cool that you play bass. But I will say that he is also like other kids in that he loves his xBox too... Skyrim and MindCraft are the 2 favorites this week (I think - LOL) but he loves his Halo, Call of Duty, etc. as well. But we make him engage in something other than xBox 24/7... and he is a honor roll student so we really can't complain... very blessed actually as he's an all-around awesome young man.

Question for you fellow V owners. When you have your guitar turned up, if you tap on the PG and body, do you hear it pretty audibly through your amp? I mean when you have your amop at band rehearsal levels.

I wrote a post on it, have a video and wonder what others with Vs think. Cool to see such a big crowd with Vs.

To play fair, here's my number 1 guitar: 1989 67 RI with Duncan JB and Jazz (neck). I had to change the tuners because the wore out and put tone pros saddles on as well. It's a monster. Such a killer neck, tone and feel.
