Well, I hope it gets contained soon, but this kind of thing is just a matter of time, and will happen again and again.

I hate illness, much rather face off with the terrorists
than droping dead from puking, craping, and coughing

Just went to a briefing on swine flue- pretty scary stuff. The infection control people seem to think a pandemic is pretty much certain. Don't know how dangerous it is yet though- doesn't seem to be as high a mortality outside mexico (no idea why though- could just be underestimation of cases). Several sustained cases in UK now.

Mainly because of the poor Mexican healthcare system along with the fact that most mexicans tend to medicate themselves as most drugs can be bought over the counter here.

There are a lot of mixed facts about the outbreak, yesterday morning Government officials reported 1600 cases and around 140 dead, las night they clarified that 1600 were suspected cases, about 400 were confirmed cases and around 90 people have died mostly because they took generic flu medicine, which eliminated the symptoms but did not kill the bug, after a week or so they arrived at the hospitals with no chance at all of making it.

Got a Mail from Maria, apparently there are Cases popping up accross the UK.The World Health Organisation reckon that if it does become a Pandemic in the UK,between 30 and 40% of the Population will have it within Six Months.Of course, the Prime Minister reckons the UK is one of the most prepared Countries on Earth when it comes to this Scenario, but given the Government couldn`t organise a Piss Up in a Brewery,i wouldn`t be too confident about their ability to deal with Swine Flu.
