Flame ebony ?

Searching for nice (but cheap) wood i bought 2 pieces of ebony fretboard blanks and a nice piece of wood for a neck.
Got it in and was amazed at one of the ebony boards, flame ebony? Never seen it.
Does not show all to well in picture but it is pretty beautifull.

Yep! I actually scored a nice flame piece of Gabon Ebony (same as yours, I believe), that I re-sawed for two boards, at my local Woodcraft a few weeks ago. It's pretty rare to find, but not unheard of. Nice score!

I bought a nice piece of ebony that turned out to be flamed as well. I used part of it on my 5 string bass build with enough left over to get a few more boards. Cool stuff!

If you want to bring out the grain or figure for a photograph, wipe it over with some naphtha and take the photo quick before the naphtha dries off.
