I thought for sure the thumbs thread would be our Friday debacle, but it turned out to be just a simple rant about missing batteries. You guys never cease to amaze me.
Honestly, I don’t know where I even mentioned it.
But “the thumbs” thing is true, and it’s true that a poor soul received a new toy that didn’t come with batteries, so they’re basically the same thing.

when the battery warning lite appears on my dashboard I know it's time to change my acoustic's battery...........

Don't be so caustic!
It's a basic thing, not an acid thing.
You have to be negative, I understand.
But you have to be positive at the same time.
Now that, would be a good reaction.
Work on your current Interstate of mind.

On a hunt for an electric acoustic that will fit the needs of my hands and ears. The Yamaha APX1200 looked interesting. Wanted a slim neck, and wanted something with a 3 band onboard eq. Ordered one the other day. This is the email I just sent off

Clay-
Not happy.
Actually you could say I'm pissed off.
First guitar purchase from Sweetwater
FedeX arrived today as I was leaving for work. Yay. I got it. Put in the house.
Worked and waited to check it out after a long 10 hr day.
Got home and Open it up, Find all the paperwork including the detailed 55 point inspection card.

EPPE
Signed off on:
HARDWARE CHECK
Output Jack
Potentiometers
BATTERY COMPARTMENT

Electronics Test
Output Jack Plug and Fit
Potentiometers
Onboard Tuner and BATTERY
Acoustic Pickups

This was all signed off on.

I open my Gigbag/Case and visually inspect a very pretty guitar.
Strum a few chords find it out of tune, almost expected
Activate the tuner, doesn't work.
Plug in my tuner, doesn't work.
Check the battery compartment
No Battery
NO BATTERY?!?!?!

How the hell did EPPE sign off on this and check all this with no battery?

So now my questions is, what else is a lie?

Sweetwater service?

Sorry folks, I've dealt with enough BS in my life. Giving my money to a liar is not on my list of priorities.

You're honestly griping about them not including a battery? I would NEVER ship a guitar with a battery in it. There is risk of it leaking - who knows what temps will happen in transit, or if there is an issue with the battery that could damage the guitar.

It's common practice to remove batteries before shipping and all shipping carriers either recommend it or require it.

Sweetwater is not the problem, it's you.

EDIT - I replied to this before realizing there is 25 pages of entertainment that followed the post. I'm popping some popcorn and getting settled in for a read. LOL

I’ve heard that Dave is so grateful to C2 for keeping us busy for so long that he’s building him a special guitar with EMGs, on board 20db boost and built in tuner. The one thing it won’t have is access to the 8 D batteries it takes to run it.
