Ok guys, I passed my driving test today so I bought the car I drove from my Dad (50% now, 50% over the next 18 months).

It's a Third gen Subaru Legacy Wagon, 2.0L, 2000 (Europe), Right Hand Drive, GL, SOHC Non-Turbo 5MT with approx 165,000 miles on it, but with lots of life to go.

Pictures to follow once I stop driving for long enough to take them

Congratulations. :thumb:

That's a perfect first car. I've seen some Subarus go through hell and back and stay on the road.

If you mean on the left, yes we Irish drive on the left [the correct side] as we weren't influenced by the French war tactics you Americans (and continental Europe) gave so easily into

...

That's right. My sister-in-law had one like that.

It was still running well when it had 265,000 miles on it, despite her not keeping the servicing up.

Subarus are good cars though. seen quite a few of them with over 200k clocked in, and still running great.

My Dad's last Subaru was the same model, we had it for 13 years and put 250,000 on it and it was just flywheel replacements and the clutch twice (first replacement wasn't a perfect fit)

I can't believe that you had the gall to start a new thread without pics. What the hell man?? You should have waited.

But I get the feeling from this thread there is no car. Maybe this thread should have waited for Friday?
