So my main guitar is a Firebird VII and i replaced the bridge pickup with a SD SM3. I run an older Marshall 50 watt JCM 800 2204 (KT88's). I am looking for something along the lines of a Soldano type of gain, and was hoping not to have to spend the dough on a GTO pedal (which go for 500+ bones). Think Warren Haynes tones... The real problem is that I know I could get it with my overdrive and the amp if I could crank the master and gain, but I have to keep fairly low stage volumes. Any affordable suggestions? I am thinking that a BOSS Metal Zone may do the trick (I used to have a Keeley modded one and loved it, but that was many rig variations ago). Maybe if I just goose my OD pedal (OCD-style) with a HBE Germania, that may do the trick?

TS-9?

Have a look at some of the blackstar tube pedals. Seem quite good.

TS pedals will not have enough gain to get that tone at low volumes. My OCD can do it at ear bleeding volumes. The trick is, lower volume, not bedroom quiet, but picky sound man quiet.

Sounds like you need a really gainy pedal. Some of the heavier Bosses should work, but definitely check out some of the Blackstar offerings. They have a tube in the circuit and I think they are warmer than most pedals. Also, the whole HT-5 line of amps is based off of one of the pedals. It couldn't be but so bad. Good luck to yah!
