Fingerboard / Bridge Radius

How important is is that the saddle radius match the fingerboard radius. I was thinking about a 10 - 14 compound on my board, but the ABR-style bridges all seem to have a 12" non-adjustable radius. Does it matter? Should I do 9" - 12" instead?

Thanks!

Ideally the radius should match the fretboard radius on the upper frets.

In actual use however, If your board is radiused at 10" and your bridge is at 12" , you will not be able to tell the difference. The difference is very slight.

If you want to match it up however the amount you need to adjust the saddles is minimal.

Here is a 10" gauge on top of a 12" gauge so the top of the white arc is 10" and the lower portion is 12". Hardly noticable.
