Finally got round chamfering the edges of the 4x10

and filled in a couple of spots i messed up. once filler dry, will sand back and should be ready for tolex, just finishing it as had left it a while. One more project I started a while back to finish and it's all play time from now on. did it in two passes, 5/16in then 1/2in bit.

The carcass has cost me about £30 in wood, the Tolex was pricey, probably work out at £30 on top for the amount I’ll use, but enough left for another cab, we pay over the odds in U.K, not worked out why yet. I cannot find grill cloth at any price, I may have to order from a stateside seller.

They have no stock, thanks for looking though. i have since found a cab maker in poland who sells what i was after, a wheat cane fabric,

Cool project. What are you shooting for? Something like a Marshall 1965B cab?

BTW, what do you plan to use to adhere the tolex to the surface? I ask because I have a couple upcoming projects that I will be covering. Tnx.

Hey there, it’s a 4x10, glue, yeah, watch a few YouTube bids about that. I have some contact adhesive which will do the job but for what I want a water based contact adhesive that has ammonia has been recommended. I have used something like that in the past for something, it stinks but it very good. Going with water based as going to have to glue indoors as garage is too cold, and prefer not to have voc’s making me high .

found me some cheap vinyl from a local haberdashery. looks identical to the stuff allparts sell except its a quarter of the price. As this is my first attempt will use this cheaper one and keep the expensive stuff for something else.

Just about to do the hard bit, the sides with corner joint, top and bottom pieces went on ok, except for one tiny bubble which I have sorted. This is the hardest bit for sure. It’s a shaping up to be a decent looking cab the brown tolex looks great. Still waiting on the cane speaker grill though.

well, not the best of jobs corners wise, but it'll have to do, what y'all think of the aluminium piping? it was a bit ambitious probably to do this type of wrap for 1st time.
