As the title states. After 4 years of screwing around with a glass jar in boiling water on the stove, then racing after it reaches temperature to my assembly area with a boiling pot without sloshing water all over the carpet, I finally broke down and bought a glue pot. Used it to glue in a neck for the first time tonight, and found I should have bought one 4 years ago!!! Sheesh ..

Yes, something I need to invest in.. Currently I use an old coffee pot which if I don't watch it like a hawk it get to hot making the glue like water.. Anyone know where I could buy one for less than SM prices?

Also congrats on your purchase.. Always nice to have a new useful, item.. :) I guess it could be called a tool right.?.

Because I'm in Aus with 240V (and a different plug shape), I had to think out of the box for a glue pot (couldn't just order one from US for example). The choices I saw were: Baby bottle warmer, wax heater (for leg waxing). I went with the latter, and its worked really well. I'd have to say that the plastic white/purple colour scheme is a little out of place in the workshop, but its very easy to spot.

Here is a very popular home-built glue pot. I cannot recall the brand name but it does hold working temp well.

Is that Hide glue in the jar and a bottle of fish glue on a rack? Nice!

Mine was handed down from the guy I replaced at the shop I worked at in the nineties, hope I never have to replaced it. I couldn't get by without it.
