They've just reduced the worlds best strike force to a few desperate long range attempts on goal. Without any histrionics, but with typical German precision, they scored 4 great goals and made some exceptional Argentinian players look mediocre. I just hope they can go on and win this tournament, they deserve it.

Here is the impasse I've reached in the family history.

In the 1891 census, my great-grandfather, Luis Vasco, stated he was from Spain.

His father, however, has a name that, from information on internet forums, would indicate a Portuguese origin: Justiniano Pinto Vasco.

So, the last concrete evidence is Spain. But further back in time it may have been Portugal. It's not out of the question that travel across the Iberian peninsula was involved at some point. But I've got no chance of establishing what happened in the first half of the 19th century in that region.

I bet the bastard was in the inquisition.. Sounds about right for your family tree.
