Well, at least Fender didn't start brewing beer. It'd be confusing as hell to pick a MIM, MIA, Squire beer

They are describing them as "The most reliable and hassle-free instrument strap lock system ever devised."

I agree with that. To bad Fender didn't "devise" them.

I have schaller strap locks and I was fully sold on them because they have a cup like area that will hold the guitar even if the locking mechanism breaks. Thing is, some have said if the screw that goes through the strap loosens the cup could flip and dump the guitar. I hadn't thought of that and now I'm mildly paraniod. Thing is I don't play guitar live so it won't take much wear and tear. Still I check that the screw is nice and tight anytime I use a strap and from time to time I tighten it up to be safe. I've seen the pics around here of those who's guitar has taken a dump and the effects it has on the headstock and if that happened to me it would break my heart. Save the Whales...ah I mean Save the Bails, ah I mean ......Save the Les Pauls!

I've never really minded the red Grolsch washers, but yeah - I've got a couple on which black would be classier. I think they only make these in red so people "recognize" them as what Joe Bonamassa and other pros are using on stage.

Saw a four pack at my local shop. Two black and two red.

Edit: just clicked the link and saw that two of them were black so I think I misunderstood your post. Ignore me and carry on.

I use blue Locktite on the nut that holds the locking mechanism to the strap and tighten it with a socket. Won't budge.

So 4 for $4 Fender brand or 100 for $5 for "Grolsch" flip top bottle washers...

Yeah, I think I'll pass.

I would really like to truly and genuinely know what drunken guitar player stumbled upon using a beer bottle washer as a strap lock. You sir, are a champion of men.

"**belch**... Dude! Check this out!"

I used to have a ton of the Grolsch style back when I used to hombrew....gave all my stuff to a friend when we moved south as he was getting into it and I didn't want to face the prospect of packing up a lot of bottles and 5 gallon carboys.....might get back into it, as my Mrs has been wishing for some of my mead - mead is great stuff, although it's like wine, takes a while to ferment and takes a good while after bottling to mellow.....Grolsch may not be my favorite beer, but I'm certainly OK with buying it as needed :)

unless i'm really feeling a certain guitar at a venue, i usually play 2 to 3 different guitars per gig. i have mine all set up with dunlops. i try to use one strap while playing live. i just pop off the strap and pop it onto the guitar i want to use next.
