Isn't there a band in Germany named "Kraftwerk"? I remember that I really dug their music back in the 70s and 80s. Extreme Electronica Prog!:thumb:

I've been working in the IT world too long. By "prog" I thought you meant program. I vote for TextPad - lean, mean text editor that is very flexible and customizable.

Glad you liked it, I saw them only one time at Reading Festival '73, they came on Friday afternoon and the sun was shining, they performed brilliantly and sounded superb...great days. They're Dutch btw.

What about these guys, 'Jody Grind' taken from the album 'Far Canal' the drummer used to play in a band called 'Heads Hands and Feet', enjoy.

In certain moods I love to listen to "Close to the Edge" or "Fragile" by Yes. The great Bill Bruford then went on to play drums on some of the best King Crimson albums too. Absolute classics of 1970's Prog like "Red" and "Larks Tongues In Aspic".

Listening to many other kinds of music as well in the early seventies, but i liked a lot of the progressive rock also, still listen to some of it now and then. Genesis, Yes, Focus, ELP was amongst the ones that did some good work imop. And this guy. Steve Hillage and Mick Taylor on the Strats there.

Mike Oldfield what a great guitarist with a really distinctive style..Tubular Bells and Ommadawn are my favourites..Later his music turned a bit bland for me but those early albums are magical..

:thumb: Really like those two albums a lot, magical would be my word as well :dude:, and also Hergest Ridge and Incantations has some great moments.

His albums since around '79 never quite reached the same level of quality imop, though i dig bits of it here and there. Was lucky to catch him live eight times, first in 1980 and his latest show here was in '99.

When I was about 11 or 12 my dad turned me on to Tubular Bells. That album really blew my mind. And, Tull - "My God" - F... yeah!

Brilliant you saw him live..You echo my thoughts on Mike Oldfield.
The suites are the best a bit later on but the songs are really cheesy..After Crises I basically find him unlistenable..QE2 aint much cop..the songs on Platinum are awful..

Oh yeah!!Some Wetton era Crimson..
