I like the sound of my amp on 8. Natural distortion. Unfotunately I am rarely able to play that loud so I use a tube screamer.

I'm the classic Marshall / JCM 800 kinda gain guy mainly. I get this sound from my Crunch Box. I also love the more round - warm tones that come from TS-type pedals (although I would like a tube amp to help me get closer to that). And I recently developed an interested in Fuzz-boxes, I've been looking at something like the EHX Muff with Wicker / Earhquaker Hoof.

You are! Those are 3 GREAT pedals to start with. I love my Crunch Box more everytime I play it. I love phasers and Luther Drive? Mine was way more colorful. Great OD pedal!!!

I like a tone that is mildly distorted,and cleans up with touch.To me it allows more dynamics,instead of taking over and jumping ahead of your intended dynamic.If I want more,I use a boost.Tweed amps have a nice spongy feel to them that I have been playing for years...as one player put it,you can really dig in to the notes (I agree!).
Still learning to tame the Boogie I got (Nomad 55)---what a beast for this simple minded fretboard fumbler.

I like this with a little help from my Keeley Box-Of-Rock (boost only). Very tiny tweaks of the various knobs create wonderful, endless variations.
Guitar--->Supa Fuzz--->Box-Of-Rock--->JCM2000 or AC-15.
