no prize. This thread isn't about refins...
Yeah, but it's pretty apparent that with the amount of gunk in the modern nitro spray that desirable results are more trouble than they're worth, wouldn't you agree?

With that said, Stow, yours is a real looker. I love that fading on the back. It went from candy apple to like... Caramel or a toffee like color. It's awesome!
Looks good Nico.. more pics?
it works...takes a lot if you want to fade a post 2005 reissue...
A curiosity: Do you protect the fingerboard? I´ve been trying the same with my R9 but I put a cottom cloth to cover it since I like it looking "black". The sun here in Brazil is crazy and I´m afraid it can danger the scale/guitar![]()
You are in Brazil, i'm in Honduras and it get dam hot most of the time, i do protect the fingerboard an the pickups. Some pickups are potted and the hot metal cover will melt the insides and make a mess for you guitar.
I use cardboard.
Yes, I cut out thick pieces of white paper in the shape of my fretboard and pickups and weaved them through the strings to cover the fretboard and pickups. Then I'd drape a white dishtowel over the head of the guitar and fastened it around the top of the head with a ponytail holder in such a way that it covered the fretboard the whole way down to the body. Using white is key as it reflects light as opposed to absorbing it and so keeps things cooler.
