If it is a bridge pickup used in the bridge position of the Les Paul, it probably won't make a noticeable difference.
Did you get a good deal on one?

I occasionally install two neck position pickups in the same guitar, and it works fine.

ahh ok.i didnt think it would other than the look of it.
I havent yet actually im still looking tho,ima give the board classifieds a look.
Is it hard to install pickups?cause i pussied out on the carvin cause it was wired for coil tap and phase switch lol.im thinking the les pauls easier but the only thing is when i opened it open the MIC electronics are all over the place and not neat, which made it difficult to find where the pickup cable was leading to lol.

If you have a good soldering iron of 30-35 watts, and are not afraid to burn your fingers, you can do it.
Just take your time, and don't burn the finish!

Hmm i cant really answer how to do it as my carvin came stock with it lol.
Coil tapping is basically making so with the flick or pull of a knob you are using only one of the coils instead of the whole humbucker. It makes it so that you KINDA get the single coil tone instead of the humbucker tone.Thats the best way i could describe it maybe someone can explain better if you still cant understand my explanation.:thumb:
