I wasn't able to edit my previous thread to take the "For Trade" out of the title, so I'm just going to copy and paste into a new thread. The guitar I'm looking for has come up for sale so I'm looking for $1599 plus shipping.
Produced from 1998 to 2004, the Custom 22 Soapbar has gained mythical status among Paul Reed Smith collectors as one of the hidden gems of the PRS family. So much so, that in 2011 PRS did a limited run of this sought after model.
This particular example was built as part of the original run in 2002 and features a mahogany body with a flamed maple top finished in Antique Sunburst. The maple neck is the PRS "D-shape" with a rosewood board and moon inlays. Speaking with a couple of hardcore PRS collectors, almost all of the original run featured maple fingerboards. Apparently the rosewood models are quite rare. The sound is produced by three Seymour Duncan Soapbars with a master volume and tone and a 5-way selector switch.
As far as condition, I would rate it as an 8/10 with a few minor dings and a little bit of wear on the back (I had to go out of my way to get the dings to show up in the photos). There is one major blemish on the edge by the input jack which was put there by a previous owner (see the close-up photo). This is the only thing keeping it from being a solid 9-plus out of 10. It comes in the original case with all of the original paperwork including warranty cards and the "Bird" hang-tag.
Would do a straight trade for a Tweedy SG. Would also be interested in other P90 equipped Gibsons (could throw in some cash to trade up).
