Im interested in learning what the markings mean in my 2007 Gibson Explorer. I assume the NA in the neck cavity is for Natural, but what is the DSXR in the bridge cavity and the weird star and A marking in the switch cavity? Also, the tone control seems to be a master volume. All electronics appear to be original and there is a TINY tone cap on that pot. Im confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they mark the cavities to show the colour, the model, and who built, finished, or finalised, the guitar.

Thanks for the info. Im hoping someone knows what the DSXR stands for in the bridge cavity. Im thinking the XR is for Explorer but Id like to know what the DS is. If its referring to the specific model Id like to know what it is. And theres the weird star and "A" marks in the switch ditch under the pickguard. Cheers!
