Ever played a MIJ Tokai Doublecut Love Rock?

Hullo there!

I hope you all don’t mind me posting this under ‘Other Single Cuts’.

In my harem I have a Gibby Les Paul Standard Doublecut AND a Tokai Les Paul Love Rock LS150Q and was hoping to learn more about Tokai’s Love Rock double cut.

If anyone out there has a clue, please chime in:

• Has anyone ever compared it to a Gibson Les Paul Standard Doublecut like mine (see picture) ? Key criteria are weight, neck dive and action.
• Has anyone ever compared it to an Equivalent – ish spec Hamer Doublecut? Key criteria are weight, neck dive and action.
• IF YOU LIKE DOUBLECUTS: How much would you hypothetically pay for (in the UK) for a used Gibson, Hamer and Tokai, in seemingly great condition?
• Will the case fit a standard Gibson or Gator Les Paul case? I see it has fatter cutaways than my Gibson DC.

My lovely Gibson double cut is a tad too light and neck dives a bit (why oh why did Gibson chamber them as they have so much less mass than a Standard Les Paul) . Was hoping the Tokai might feel a little sturdier.

I assume you mean the Love Rock II ?? I'm not sure if they came with the higher specs like solid flame tops and nitro. Plaintop would be solid. Flame tops would be a veneer I believe.

Neck dive can be fixed with a good strap. Easy peasy.

I have a Hamer Studio and I'd say it's more in line with Gibsons custom shop stuff. Mine however isnt a lightweight at around 9.5 pounds. They can vary a lot

Hardly if ever play double horn. Except for Flying v, which I use pretty often.

Yes 'Toes, it is a Love Rock II with a quilt top (similar to the Love Rock in my Avatar but a different colour). I appreciate the information. I fixed my neck Gibson DC dive with a nifty product called Guitar Gummy... these soft silicone pads that stick under your strap and are helpful. I assume your Hamer fits in a regular Les Paul case, correct?
