EB 10s and 11s for me! ive tried EVERYTHING! mine lasts for about a 3 days-a week, but i play ALOT. and they wear out before they break, so the only times i break them if in too lazy to change them! i cant stand dead string, i know guys who keep strings on for years, and they all have shit dead tone.

however, the best sounding strings i ever tried was the DR pure blues ( pure wound nickel strings ) but they were so unpredictable i had to intonate each time i put on a new set( sometimes so bad i couldnt intonate them at all! and often i would get dead strings.

so WHEN ( lol ) i get an endorsment with DR and a great personal tech that does that stuff for me, ill use EB LOL

I use Roto orange, light tops, heavier bottoms. I love Roto's. And they give you a spare high e. Bare Knuckle pickups come with a set of Roto's and a pick in the box with the pickups. I tried them then, and I've been using them since. I have American guitars with English pickups and Strings, and they make me happy.

Regular and Super Slinkys are the most popular for a reason.
I like the heavy/skinny's myself:

Thicker wound strings for a nice big meaty blues/power chord chunk, and thin strings to keep bending easy on the the unwound side.

I have these on my Artcore right now--I've had D'Addario's of the same gauge before, and I preferred them to the EB's.

Next I'm trying the same gauge with Boomers, which is what I like on most of my electrics.
Then I'll decide which I like the best--although the D'Addario's are the easiest to find.

I tried Ernie Balls first time about 2 weeks ago. Weren't for my ear, so I decided to get another pack of Curt Mangan 10's, they last a long time and sound great. This is only my second pair but the last pair I used for about 2 months which is great for me.

I like CM's, and they're made locally, supposedly. But the first string I broke in many years was - a CM e.

I have super slinky's on the the strat, hybrid slinky's on my les paul special, and the original gibson 10's on my R8, although i find that i really want to slap some super slinky's on the R8. i know 9's are often looked down upon but i love the way they feel. My only worry is i play rhythm in my band so i don't know if the tone will be enough, but in my personal playing time i love the easy bends.

Either Nickel EB slinky, or DR Pure Blues 10s.
Both sound great, easy to play, and would probably last a life time, although, I usually change strings about every 4 weeks...On all 15 guitars...The 12 string's killin' me...

Only electric strings I use:

I vary string brands on my Martin acoustic though. Whatever happens to be the cheapest at the moment among my three preferred brands: Ernie Ball, D'Addario or Martin.

I use regular slinky's on my LP and power slinky's on my strat.

I change my strings about every month just because new strings sound and feel better and I dont have to worry about them breaking.

It's all good! Any mojo lost is absorbed into the pickguard!!!

What if you removed the pickguard? Where does the mojo go? :laugh2:

Seriously, I was told that Ernie Ball is one of the few guitar string manufacturers. Most companies just buy their strings from these few manufacturers and repackage - which is why Ernie Ball was suggested to me. I googled did this quickly with no obvious conclusion.

Either way, I tend to buy whatever brand is on sale at the local guitar shop - which is typically either Ernie Ball or D’Addario.

Drude.....I tried a set years ago and they were like using barbed wire and so they were off my list.
My local store knows Jason How and he was telling them how he had installed new equipment and that quality was as good as anyone.

I tried a set and was blown away with how they felt and how they sounded.
I actually emailed Jason to say how much I liked them. I've been using them ever since they really are good! :thumb:

Have you ever played Super Slinkys? If so, how would you compare them to the Slinkys?

Has anyone played the Ernie Ball Classic Rock N Roll strings? I usually play Super Slinkys but am considering the Classic ones and was wondering how they compared.

I think they're pure nickel as opposed to nickel wound.

I'm wondering how much of a difference that would make to the tone, etc.

They make sure sound a lot warmer. Nickle wound tends be more spike in the treble the Pure Nickle which is more warmer sound.

I have a single pack of the rock 'n' rolls (9), 2 pack of the regular slink (10) and 3 Super Slinky's (also 9).
