Im strining up my guitar with a new set of ernie ball cobalts, i first did some crappy recordings with a new set of ernie ball heavy slinkys (purple pack) and am in the process of stringing the guitar up with the cobalt heavys i will post the findings here within the hour. Im doing 1 recording on a clean channel and one on a distorted channel, both on the neck pickup playing the same simple scale.

maybe if i used better stuff to record with other than a cellphone it may have turned out better idk.

sorry my stupid internet went out for almost 5 hours. Im uploading everything now. I honestly cant really tell a difference with the recordings i can see were everyone says they have that buttery feeling to them, there might be more sustain as well.

yea i will post some new recordings tonight with them, i just needed to adjust my pickups to compensate for the new strings and i can really hear a true true difference now. I will probably stick with them even tho they cost more. As for everyone saying they are blueish in color its not even notiacable trust me its just a slight slight slight tint more of a whiteish color than anything...

**Off Topic**
I took my geetar outside today and was suprised at how crazy of a difference the daylight makes on the finish of the guitar, im gonna take some better ones tomorrow this was just with my cellphone..

Also you can kinda see the blueish tint to the strings, its just as noticeable closeup as it is in this picture witch isnt very..

I just tried a set of 10's on my SG standard - these strings ROCK! They seem only slightly "louder" and a little more "bright" - which works quite well with my Mesa's(MARK V & Roadster), which are kinda bass-heavy amps. They feel real good - and so far seem to hold their tone & tune longer. Regular slinkys were my main strings for the last ten years(D'Addarios prior choice) and worked quite well, but I'd experience tune & tone loss after a couple of days. Now I will try cobalts on my Les Pauls!

The cobalt strings sound a little brighter with a bit more clarity it would seem, thanks for that :)

Anybody know where I can buy these in the US? Musiciansfriend says they don't have any shipping any until a month from now...

To me they're worth it just for the fact that they never really corrode (at least for me). Its been a month and they still sound brand new and show no wear. Plus they're really smooth

I could hear a difference, but it was pretty subtle. In both sound tests, the regular strings had a bit more buzz in the high end, while the Cobalt strings sounded less harsh, but just as clear. I preferred the sound of the Cobalt strings, but this was a pretty subtle difference in tone. I'd have to try a set on one of my guitars before concluding whether they're worth the price.
