Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum and hope you can help me. I want to buy a used Epiphone Les Paul Standard, but just wanna check, if it's a real one or wether it's fake.
The serial number is 119162350.
I assume it was manufactured in 2011, but which month should 91 be?:shock:

Thanks for your help :dude:

You must provide pictures. The counterfeiters will use S/N's that will decode just like on a genuine guitars. No way can you use a S/N to determine if a guitar is legit or not. The S/N you provided could be found on an Epi acoustic:

11=year
9=month
16=Qingdao China (acoustic)
2350=production number

The serial number makes no sense. The month code is always two digits, even on older guitars with only one digit for the year. As Steve said, we cannot tell anything from a serial number alone. We need pictures of the guitar, including a pic of the serial number, to make any determination.

To make a determination, we need pictures of the entire guitar from the front and of the back of the headstock showing the serial number.

Ok thanks, I will try to get a picture of the back. Not quite sure though whether it will still be today, as I'm from Europe and it's already quite late here

Edit: Sorry, I had a copy paste fault with the serial number, pasted the wrong number by mistake. It's already late here ;-)
Does this number make sense: 09101506354
I know you cannot tell for sure whether it's fake or real, but would it at least theoretically describe an electric epiphone?

Sorry to steal an earlier reply but ...

The first two digits (09) mean that it was made in 2009.
The second two digits (10) mean it was made in the tenth month, October.
The next two digits (15) mean that it was made in factory code 15, which is for electric guitars made in the Qingdao Plant in China.
The rest of the digits (06354) are the models factory number.

It doesn't mean that the guitar is genuine though.
