Hi everyone. Here is one Epiphone les paul standard Limited mahogany in worn cherry.I'm thinking of buying it and i'm wondering if it's a fake or a genuine epiphone les paul. The seller didn't gave me the serial number yet.He told me that he bought the guitar one year ago for about 350 pounds.
Here are some pictures of the guitar:

I saw one of these on ebay. It's serial number doesn't contain any letters in it.There is label"hand crafted in China" at the back of the headstock..but in Wikipedia i've read, that serial numbers without letters are placed on epiphones made in Japan. What's wrong with this one?

Thanx:)

All I can say is that I believe there is a new serial number system going around.

That's what I understand from a few things I've read recently.

My advice? There is a stickied (stuck at the top of the page... cool, huh?) thread called the Fake Epiphone thread or something. There are experts who can tell you their opinion on the legitimacy of the guitar.
