Epiphone Les Paul Slash Gold Top Upgrades

Guys, i am upgrading the hardware on my Epiphone Les Paul Slash Gold top ,bought he Gotoh TOM Bridge and Graphtech slotted Tusq nut,

1-The bridge came with the thumb screws and the threads through which they go through, i removed the old ABR bridge and the old thumb screws, the threads looked properly attached the the guitar, shall i attempt to remove them or let them be?

2- Is this the right glue to fix the nut..3M Scotch Clear glue,see attached.
