So my Sweetwater guy called me and sent me two to choose from, I picked one I really liked. I can’t wait till she comes next week.

Thanks, I love it. I have been looking for an aged Les Paul Standard like this at a reasonable price for over a year now. This may be my #1, I’m so excited. It has just the right coloring and aged look I was looking for.

So I guess I was right after all, despite some snarky comments by some:

Hey i'm going to buy one of these no doubt. I just don't feel epiphone did much or anything as far as a colaberation with JB .. I will admit that i haven't read up on the JB but owning 2 of the 59's the JB just seems like the same guitar. I could be wrong but that's how i feel about it...

So, is Lazarus the same guitar as Epiphone 1959 Outfit?

Besides different color top all specs seem to be exactly the same.

It appears to be the same. This is fine by me though as I was considering a 59

That's fine with me too. Although I own a 1959 Outfit in dark burst I still wanted to get a 1959 in one of Sweetwater exclusive colors, but they've been back-ordered for ages. Lazarus will do instead - I like the color a lot more than Sweetwater colors.

That is literally all it is, a Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard in what I would call lemonburst finish. Im ok with that as I was already looking at the southern fade 59 that Zzounds has but I think I like this finish better.

Yep, pretty much the same thing as the 59 Epiphone LP Standards, but the awesome high gloss AAAA burst that still has that aged dirty lemonburst look.

I love the top in the photo above. Bummed my Sweetwater guy told me December so they must have been pre-ordered, or he wanted me to focus on the LP Std he already has on hold for me. My Epi 59 has a nice dark fingerboard. 8lbs 10. Hopefully these are the same. When I called MF, it sounded like they were all in stock in stores so not sure if you risk getting a floor model re-boxed. I love that you can pick and choose your top on Sweetwater.

The Epiphone site says 1 piece neck.

@darkvoice maybe so. It sounded like the instruments were all in stores though so maybe no disadvantage of getting it from there vs their main warehouse.

The Lazarus is basically same as the '59 but has a nicer top and finish?

Quick cell phone pic, I want to get it outside tomorrow and get some better pics in good lighting.

It came from a Guitar Center in Cleveland, but it really does not look like it made it to the sales floor. All of the protective wrap was still on it and there are no obvious signs of use.

@joseph07081 thanks. Good to know. Curious what it weighs. Probalby same as the '59's which were pretty light LP's. Love to see a straight on photo of the top if it's still out handy. Jealous !
