Epiphone 2000 Ace Frehley Les Paul: Get her or pass?

Just taking a general consensus from the gang here at MyLesPaul.com. Plus I know how many of you luv some Ace. So, here's the deal:

I've a chance to buy a 2000 Epiphone Ace Frehley Les Paul...the one with the Space Face on the head stock. (Negotiated) asking price: $699.00 + shipping.

I'm not a fan of Ace (sorry kids...not hating on him, just not a follower is all), but the guitar looks cool with the three DiMarzios and I know they had to stop putting his face on them for legal reasons, so that is kinda cool, too.He changed the original chrome tulip Grovers to regular Grovers and it just comes with a regular Epiphone case. None of the COA or other stuff with it, just guitar with generic Epi case.

Don't need it, not really Jonesin' for it, but if it's a good deal (that's where you experts come in!) then I'll go for it. Besides, how cool would it be to sit it next to my Tommy Thayer White Lightining!?!

Looks pretty sweet! I live near Ace. I might be able to get him to sign it, too...if I had an additional $500.00. Maybe Tommy will sign it for $50.00?

i love mine the super Ds sound great mine has a PAF in the neck that I think make it even better and more usable .
I if you don't have any thing with super Ds in it get it as it adds that sound to the color palate .

I've got two guitars with Super Distortions in them, actually.

As far as the Ace Les Paul goes, from the research I've been doing since this post, the price seems about right. Not like a "wow, what a deal!" but rather, "yeah, that's not a bad price". Would be a lot better if it had the original case and COA.

I've actually had many (yes, many) encounters with Mr. Ace Frehley, too. So, though not a huge fan (again, not dissing him, just not my thing), it would hold some personal interest due to the association I've had with him.

I still have about a day to make up my mind. Keep them comments/suggestions coming!

I maybe wrong but the budukon came with a case and coa I don't think these did , nor did they have a coa someone correct me if i'm wrong

You may be correct in that assumption, sir. In my, all be it brief research I've been doing, I don't recall seeing any of these (non Budakan) models with a case or COA. The Budakan comes with a pick guard, this does not. This model features the Space Man face on the head stock which had to be removed for the Budakan model (which came after this model) because Gene $immon$ apparently owns the likeness.

Neither am I a fanboy, which is why I'm leaning more and more in your direction. The only draw to me for this model is the three pick up configuration (DiMarzios are a plus, too) and little details like the binding on the head and body and the back veneer looks rather nice. But at this price I don't see it as a great deal.

Perhaps I should save my money up for the next Tommy Thayer model?
I hear it's gonna have 20% more sparkles than the last!
(I actually own the last one...White Lightning...and it pretty cool, but damned sparkly.)
