Hi, I'm new to the forum, a long time ago I was looking for an old ephiphone Slash and here in Argentina they are hard to find.
Now I found 2 an epiphone slash AFD 2010 and an epiphone slash Gold top 2008 at the same price.

Welcome to the forum! Wish I could help but only YOU will know which one works for you. You may get a lot of suggestion and comparisons but you REALLY need to play the guitars and make your own decision. Good luck with your quest Sir!

This is the Gibson Les Paul Thread, I am thinking that one of the Mods will move this to the Epiphone Les Paul Thread at some point.

As was stated above, you will be able to make that choice for yourself better than we can. BadPenguin gave you a couple of good links that will present the specs on the guitars you speak of. Good Luck with your search.

I am not a big fan of Gold tops, so I say go for the AFD.

Epiphone wishes their AFD Slash model came out that nice!! The JB coversion over to the AFD I think is a lot closer than what epiphone put out in 2021. I personally think the epi slash AFD looks nothing like the it should for that model...

JB slash and my Anaconda Slash. I honestly like my JB Slash better it's not just the AFD's... I hope epiphone does a better job with these next time around.

If the necks have the same profile, go with the one that looks the best to you.

I agree ,I have one on lay by but it’s because it plays and sounded so good ,nothing to do with the top ,the one I have away looks more like the andertons Epiphone 59 lemon

hopefully ill actually have it sometime soon depending on finances

I love the neck profile on my Anaconda burst. The guitar is well made nice beefy guitar. I think I just favor the 59s over the Slash model and would be nice if they based their next slash offerings off of the 59's. I guess I just never bonded with my anaconda? The guitar is just about dead mint just living in it's case. Rather than give it away I will just save it for my daughter when she gets older....

My 8 yrs old daughter loves Slash. She asked me the other day if slash was a real person and not a cartoon!!
