There's an Epi snakepit on the US eBay for 5k, signed by slash but surely that price is madness. It isn't even modified, it has all the original black hardware and standard pups. I've got an upgraded Epi snakepit and I don't reckon I'd get a grand in pounds for it!
Your thoughts.....

5K? I wouldn't pay 500 € though that's the value that most of them go for. They had cheap pickups electronics if I remember correctly.
If I was going to spend 5K on a guitar I would rather get a 1977 Gibson Les Paul Custom in Ebony.

yeh he's mad thinking he'll get that price. just cos it's signed? slash signs loads of things these days. ive met him 3 times and had two guitars signed...doesn't add 4k to the price. ive got a signed mockingbird sl for sale and even that's cheaper than his epi!
top lad if he sells it...doubtful though

Not to mention that if there's no way to verify the signature it may as well be signed by your dad.

I wouldn't even pay that for a Gibson Snakepit.

Anyone who pays the price for that Gibson needs to have their head examined. Planned limited editions are not what real collectors are attracted to. Collectors look for guitars that are limited in quantity but not because they were planned to be, just because that's the way it turned out or because many were made and few remain. Or they look for guitars with a rich pedigree as to who the previous owner was.

autographs are only worth a lot if the person didn't sign many things and they're also dead.

Neither of which apply to ol' Slash

And they are worth more if they are not personalized, unless they are personalized to another equally or more famous person.

They went through all that trouble of putting the pearl snake inlay across the ebony board and they finish it off with freaking amber knobs, seriously?

Sh!t Gibson, get it together.

What else are they gonna do with those zillion amber knobs they already have in their factory? :laugh2:

If that goes for 5k please let me know and I'll paint my Standard red and put a snake sticker on it. I've got a bunch of amber control knobs in my guitar case too.

Unbelievable, that's a ridiculous amount of money.

To you and me it is a ridiculous amount, to someone with millions it's a drop in the bucket. I can't really say for sure if my opinion would change if I suddenly had 50 mill in the bank.
