Hi all...fairly new to this forum. I read it a lot--great stuff.

I picked up a used Epi LP Studio (Limited Edition Custom Shop) with the thought that I'd mod it a little bit. There's a chip on the front but I'm OK with that. I'm actually quite pleased with it stock, but was thinking of making a "White Beauty" out of it. Maybe some chrome pickups and a white pickguard? White knobs, etc? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Definately get a switchcraft toggle switch and output jack,, plus I would go with the vintage braided wire as well and replace the pots with CTS 10% 500K pots. That will make a huge difference in tone and it will be alot cleaner sounding.

Thanks. What about the "White Out" idea? I'm thinking something like this:

or this

Or just a white/black/white pickguard and a white toggle switch/plate? Going for something unique, but don't want it to be too ugly ;)

Welcome to MLP. I think the white and creme look is nice. I'd lose the amber knobs though. Go to 50's wiring too along with some PIO caps with the mods suggested by skynyrd and you should have great sounding Git! :thumb:

Thanks. What color knobs? White or gold?

I'm a Re-Newbie. I've posted here before about my Gibson LP a while ago, but could not remember my ID and the email associated with the account no longer exists. Anyway, glad to be here. :thumb:

Leave it as is. It looks great. Just change stuff to make it sound better (picups, pots, wiring, jack, switch, caps) Or, just play the hell out of it.

That's the plan. But I want to "customize" the look a bit, too. It IS a nice looking guitar as is. Always wanted a white LP

Whitewash the fret board, like Steve Miller's Strat. Polar Bear in a blizzard. Coolest look ever.

[FONT=trebuchet ms,sans-serif]OK...Here's my concoction. White speed knobs, white toggle washer, chrome pickups, mother of pearl pick-guard. The photoshop job is not perfect (scale or color corrected, etc) but you should get the idea... Whaddya think? You better say "It's awesome." :thumb:

Okay first off do0 not get chrome covers or buy a set of pickups with chrome covers. The extra plating required for the chrome sucks tone. Get polished nickel. Same look thinner plate, Get a good harness for it. They can be had DIY for 65 bucks with all premium stuff or drop in for 90 bucks. I personally use Martinsixstrings stuff for myself. That is just my preference. Then maybe a better stop bar and bridge. After that you should be groovy. Yeah it sounds like a bit of loot but it is a guitar and sounds like you love it so treat it as such.

I'll def post picks when they are on....I think the stainless steel against the worn brown will look hot. I am thinking of chroming out the guitar at this point as well. Nickel knobs, gibson nickel PUPS...on worn brown, what do you think?

KISEKAE Disclaimer

This is a virtual Les Paul builder I've found, it's a nice way to get the general idea of what it'll look like, or try some diffrent ideas too.

stratdragon92 :That Virtual Builder is great. Very cool.

captcoolaid: I ordered up some nickel pickups along with the pearloid pickguard and white knobs. It's a start. Will get pics as soon as it is done. Thanks everyone.
