I think It could be worth $400, especially with the price on new epis going up, thus driving the used market up as well, but Im sure you could get them to go cheaper. I paid $399 used for mine back in 2005.

OK so honestly, and there are a few people here who would know, what will the gold top give me that my hamer doesn't??

They have the same set-up but the lp has an extra tone control. Both are mahogany and maple. Just a thought.

I will accept the whole 'cool factor' thing - that is the attraction after all. I am just wondering if I will end up with two guitars that sound and feel the same.

There's a goldtop Epi in my local guitar store as well! I bet the pickups are uncovered on that one right? It might be (discontinued) Epi LP Classic because they own a TRC which says Gibson! If the guitar has pickup covers... I've no Idea what it could be! :laugh2:

This one does not have pup covers at all. It looks like the previous owner was going for the slash look because it has the amber top hats and cream tip.

So then I'm sure it's a Les Paul Classic! This model was available in a goldtop version! But like I sad... they're discontinued! The guitar in your (our) shop has to be a little older!

Wish I had thought of that:naughty:

IMO 400 is TOO much and MAPLE TOP , NO they do not have a MAPLE TOP,
350 with case is all I would pay.

Yeah $350 including case is a good price, maybe a little bit more...
